You can quickly and easily restore jointer knives to crisp, sharp edges with HONE:MATE^™:

Start by cleaning your knives.

95-420 - Dip the standard HONE:MATE^™ into oil and make light, even strokes along the length of the blade:

Durable plastic body indexes the hones against the knife edges for accurate sharpening every time.

180 grit for initial sharpening; 400 for final honing.

800-889 - Diamond HONE:MATE^™ cuts quicker, lasts longer and works on carbide as well as High Speed Steel:

Use water, not oil, for cooling and lubrication.

Use similar sharpening techniques.

OURS:

HONE:MATE^™ has two different grits which do a finer job of sharpening (180 & 400 grit) - a positive index system keeps sharpening angle accurate and does not bind knife in the stone.

THEIRS:

Both stones are the same grit. Single grit stones do not provide same sharpness as two-stone systems. Indexing system is not as accurate or positive and knife binds in the stone.
