IDEAL FOR ALL HVLP AND CONVENTIONAL SPRAY APPLICATIONS
This complete range of highest quality lacquer products from sanding sealer to stringed instrument lacquer to crackle lacquer, plus much more will provide durable, long wearing finishes. Behlen Qualalacq lacquers are now more environmentally friendly with maximum 275 VOC's g/l and do not require a reducer to be properly atomized by a spray gun:

Qualalacq Sanding Sealer produces a smooth, hard, clear seal coat that bonds wood and lacquer top coats:

  • Light color and heavy body for maximum adhesion and exceptional flow out. Dries in 30-45 minutes; sands easily.
  • Qualalacq Sanding Sealer is the ideal base for Qualalacq lacquers.


    • Qualalacq 755 (satin) or Qualalacq 100E (high gloss) lacquers are nitrocellulose based and form an extremely hard finish:

  • Highly resistant to alcohol, water, heat, impact and abrasion.


    • Qualalacq Lacquer Reducer is formulated specifically for improving flow of Qualalacq lacquers and sealers (Not needed for proper atomization.)

    Stringed Instrument Lacquer is a high-quality nitrocellulose finish:

  • Specifically formulated for the dramatic expansion and contraction of stringed instruments.
  • Requires H. Behlen® Vinyl Sealer as a base.
  • Properly applied and rubbed, five coats will result in a mirror gloss surface.


    • Vinyl Sealer is an excellent moisture barrier and flexible base coat suitable for any lacquer coat.

    Retarder helps prevent blush when spraying during high himidity and may be added at 5-10% by volume.

    Flattener reduces gloss in lacquer and a maximum of 1/2 pint may be added per gallon and thorough mixed to adjust the sheen from gloss to flat.

    Crackle Lacquer produces a classic, crazed and cracked antique finish - only apply to lacquer-based sealer or top coat.

    Fisheye Flowout prevents cratering (fisheyes) caused by silicone contamination; use with lacquer or varnish.
