Made from metal that has been hammered into extreme thinness, genuine German made Monarch 23K gold leaf is 3-3/8" x 3-3-3/8" and comes packed 25 to a book:

  • 849-867 - Deep Patent is intended for flat surfaces and outdoor work - comes attached to book separators and works like a transfer.
  • 849-860 - Deep Surface is packaged loose and must be transported from book to work area using optional 3-1/2"W gilder's tip (850-448) - suitable for intricate work.
  • 132-191, 929-840, 929-847 - Copper plus genuine and imitation silver leaf (5-1/2" x 5-1/2", 25 to a book) must be sealed with varnish or lacquer to prevent tarnishing. Acrylic Clear Coat 132-185 is a suitable product.


    • Available in 8 oz. or 16 oz. cans, ROLCO gold size provides a strong, permanent bond for metallic leaf and mica powders:
  • 849-930 - Clear, slow dry oil size dries to a workable tack in 10-12 hours - maintains tack for an additional 12-24 - total hard dry in about 72 hours.
  • 849-937 - Clear, quick set size dries to a workable tack in 1-1/2 hours - maintains tack for an additional 1-1/2 hours.
  • Apply with brush, roller or sprayer. Japan colors can be added when background color is needed.
